*I haven’t written for a while, there is much going on in our lives and I will catch things up when time permits. However I have really felt for some time that I needed to post a tribute to my Mom. I still haven’t really allowed myself to mourn and heal from her loss. Maybe for me this will help a little to write a few things on her behalf.
Six years ago my Mom, Sister, and her boyfriend were on their way here to surprise me for my Birthday. Mom always preferred to travel at night. They left California after work and drove straight through the night. Mom had just got done resting as they pulled off the road and switched drivers. 10 miles latter just outside of Nephi, they were involved in a one car accident. The car rolled several times and Mom was thrown from the car.
I woke up at 5 am that morning, and was very unsettled with no idea why. At 5:30 I received a call from my sister and the first thing out of my lips was what’s wrong and what’s happened.
Our lives were changed forever.
Mom always wanted to return to Utah, she was born in Provo. Here are a few of the things that I, and I believe all of us, feel were blessings about her passing when and were she did,
~Mom was here so I was able to take care of her needs. She wasn’t at “home” where we know what she wanted would not have been taken into consideration.
~Her and Dad were FINALLY together (celebrating my Birthday in each other’s arms), which is all she had wanted for 28 years other than raising her children.
~We were all finally in good places in our lives so she knew she could leave and we would be ok. Her “JOB” here on this earth had been completed. She had recently made peace with many things in her life and with her children. She had just shared some precious words with me in March, 2 months earlier. She finally felt that she had all her children back within her arms and her family was reunited.
~I was able to take her home to California and lay her to rest next to her ETERNAL SOUL MATE, and did so without her having to fly. Dad died in a plane crash and Mom was TERRIFIED to fly and would have been very upset with me had I not been able to do that.
~She was with family from the moment she passed until the moment we closed the casket.
~Our sister and her boyfriend were not injured beyond emotional scars and a few scratches. A TRUE MIRACLE!!!!..
~Mom was driving; our dear sister doesn’t have to live with a guilt such as that would have been.
~Mom was able to return to her Heavenly Father and finally have the peace that she had desired, searched for, and needed for so long. Now she can complete the next phase of her life and move forward with her eternal progression.
I know that she is watching over us and giving me added strength to continue her role as the matriarch of our family.
I LOVE YOU MOM !!
THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU GAVE EACH OF US!! YOURSELF!!
Here is a copy of a “tribute” I framed for each of us kids (and on her program)… From Mom and me…

Hello Dear Mother!
I came to say Good Night,,
I know it’s not good –Bye,
Because of God’s Promise
I’ll see you in His devine light,
And to You Dear Mother,
I can truly say, I was Blessed the day
God placed me in the folds of your loving
way.
It breaks my heart to think of the time
We’ll be apart.
You’ll always be in my thoughts each and
Every day.
And so Dear Mother,
I just want to hold your presence tight,
As God in all His wisdom takes you on
Your heavenly flight.
God gave me these words so I could
See the light;
And so Dear Mother
No, it’s not Good-Bye!

Tammy that is so beautiful. Your mom was a great lady. While I did not have the opportunity to know her like I do Kathleen and David, but my mom has always shared memories and has a great love and respect for her. She did indeed love your dad. I am glad that she is with your dad, sad that she isn't here for you to squeeze and talk with as you go through motherhood.
Happy Birthday Cousin. Keep me posted on your new adventure and call if you have any questions. I am happy to help.
Love you.
What a nice tribute to your mom. And happy birthday to you!
That is seriously the most awesome tribute. I had no idea what happened to your mom, and I can't imagine dealing with that kind of loss. You are such a strong woman! Hope you are doing well and had a Happy Birthday!
P.S. I love the new background!
That was a beautiful tribute. I know she is so proud of all you have done and continue to do for your family. On that note: Happy Birthday and Mother's Day! And thanks for being such a great friend and neighbor. We all love our "Aunt Tammy and Uncle Chad."
