It started out on Saturday morning 5-24-08 at 7:30am. Chad helped on our Ward clean-up day and then a service project. They went and cleaned up green and household waist.
Chad and Abe loading up the truck.
Out to go get some more.
How many men does it take to mow a lawn? lol
Getting the job done!!
Chad was finishing up at the dumpster and was going to go see them pull a tree stump out with a large wrecking tow truck (for Semi Trackers). When he took his eyes off for just a minuet and hit one of the neighbors van. He felt so bad and I was really discouraged at another miss hap in our string of them lately. When we got done with helping her and all that is involved with that I turned to Chad and said very passionately,
"I NEED A PEPSI".
So off we went to get my Pepsi and 8 1/2 hrs later we got home. Yes that is right an all day Pepsi.
What did we do well that is a good story, and here it is:
Well we started out getting the Pepsi and then just started driving and talking we didn't stop till 8:30p.m. when we got home. We ended up, starting at the Timpanogos Temple for a while, and watched all the Brides there. Including seeing our Bishops family show up for their daughters weeding. Ops there we are sitting in our "grubbys" just talking about our lives and getting away from the craziness of it all. So we decided to go and then went to see Grandma's house in Springville. Neither of us have been there since we helped clean the last of her things out of the house (I think about 2 years now). It has been hard for both of us to go back. It was good to go, see, and talk about good times and memories we shared.
Then we decided to go up Hobble Creek canyon, have lunch on top, and come back down. Well when we got to the top we were slipping and sliding around (it was raining, hailing, and snowing on us too) so we decided to just keep going and go down off the other side. While we were headed out of Diamond Fork Canyon we ran upon two dogs that looked liked they had run away from there owners. Well after 3 hrs of trying to find there owners we got them home. We had them in the back of the truck, still with the lawn mower in it, after all we were only going for that Pepsi...LOL...
Here are Rugger and Ziggy back home.

That was Saturday. On Sunday we had just eaten lunch when we heard someone at the door. I opened it an it was my uncle and aunt Dave and Marleen from Roosevelt, UT. We were sitting and visiting and found out that they had just bought a new mattress and box springs. They were going to come back down on Monday and take it back home. So we offered to get it and take it back with them now. So we got in the truck and did just that. When we got to there house we sat and visited a bit and got home at 1 a.m. (Chad had to be at work at 6:30 this morning). We both felt so good being able to help someone (FAMILY) that had done so much to help us, we didn't even mind a little lack of sleep.
Marleen and Tammy visiting
We were having a good time just catching up
Look Chad got a bug in the bag of the mattress!!
SHAME ON HIM!! :)
Chad's "I TOLD YOU SO"...
HAPPY DANCE!!
Ok this was a hard on for me to swallow. I gave him a hard time about driving so slow and Dave had just told him how fast he was REALLY going. Chad was right the truck isn't calibrated, and it is going 5-10 miles/hr faster than the gage says it is. I admitted I was wrong and he was right!! That doesn't happen very offten you know...LOL
All in all, it was a great weekend... those unplanned "road trips" gave us great ALONE time and we were able to talk and just enjoy our time together as husband and wife. It is a weekend we are going to remember for a long time to come. We were able to make some great future plans and set some goals for ourselves. One of those rare oppertunities that you take (or are forced to take) time for yourselves that change your life and the direction that it is taking. I'm greatful for the oppertuntity that was given to us.
