Our First Surgery as Mom and Dad

Our Little Guy's Surgery

I can't wait to be able to use their names. I have agreed that I wouldn't post their names so that I can post our adventures on our blog. For those that don't know we are in the process of adopting the boys and we are all very excited about it. Last week on Monday we took "J" in for surgery. He had tubes in a couple of years ago and needed to have them put back in and his adenoids taken out. He has failed all of his hearing tests and I know that has made things so difficult for him. Just as I know this will make things so much better for him, including his learning and moods. He really did very well with everything!! There were only two things that upset him, he didn't want to put the hospital gown on, the Dr. convinced him that it was cool and when we got into the Post Op he saw the other kids in them and then he was totally ok with it. The other thing he wanted nothing to do with us getting on the hospital bed, he didn't like the idea of going "back to bed". So he asked Dad to carry him back which he did all the way back to the doors going back to the operating rooms (as far as we could), then the Dr took over. As you can see in the pictures, yes I was on the phone but only because we were still waiting for the phone call to happen for the surgery approval. Mom was NOT going to wait any longer so I was franticly calling everyone in the offices to make sure things didn't go wrong. It worked, I was able to get the supervisors supervisor and get it all taken care of, just in time!! Everyone was grateful (the charge nurse was relieved as we were too) third scheduling was the charm.

Isn't that smile just contagious, even at 6am!!
I have fallen in Love with our boys!!
Even though there are some hard times with them, it is worth it :)
THEY ARE WORTH IT!!
